The name Rashīd Fayyāḍ al-Nashāshībī al-Maqāsī is written in different ink on the same page beneath the title, followed by the date 1295H (1878); he may be a former owner.Physical description: 8 lines per page; written in naskhi script in black on modern white paper. Basmalahs, pagination, verse endings and some diacritics in red. Paginated 4-378 in Arabic numerals; catchwords.Origin: Copy completed by Muṣṭafá ibn Muṣṭafá ibn Aḥmad ibn Muṣṭafá al-Mālikī al-Ṭarābulsī on 11 Ramaḍān 1292H (11 October 1875) (literally, "fī al-sāʻah al-thāniyah min al-thulth al-thālith min al-laylah al-ūlá min al-thulth al-thanī min shahr Ramaḍān..."), from a copy by al-Ḥājj Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá dated 1101H (1689-90) (fol. 188b).Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يا بني اسرائيل اذكروا نعمتي عليك وعلى آبائكم الاقدمين وحملتكم في البر والبحر ورزقتكم من الطيبات وانا العزيز الحكيم - Gold stamped, quarter leather European binding; pasted boards with marbled covers. - An apocryphal Islamic version of the holy book given to David. Although the Zabūr is usually identified with the Psalms, this text does not contain them; rather it consists of a series of God's addresses to David, his people, and humankind in general.
