It appears that the edges of the folios have been trimmed.Decoration: Headpiece illuminated with gold, orange, blue, brown and black (fol. 1b). Fols. 1a-2b framed in gold and black.Origin: According to colophon copied late Muḥarram 979 by Qāsim ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥīm al-Bakrī (fol. 309a).Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وبه تستعين اما بعد الحمد لله سبحانه بماله من المحامدExplicit: نسخ هذا الكتاب سنفه الفقير ... قاسم ابن عيد الرحيم البكري ... في اواخر شهر المحرم الحرام من شهور سنة تسع وسبعين وبسعماية احسن الله ختامه بمنه وجوده م - Type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Upper cover is cut down from a larger volume with offset blind-stamped mandorla. Lower cover has blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and corner motifs. Flap has blind-stamped design underneath black silk. Fabric doublures and flyleaves of black silk. Multi-colored endbands. - A commentary on the famous grammatical poem, al-Alfīyah. The author of this commentary is the son of the elder Ibn Mālik.
