Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.Copied by Ibrāhīm ibn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Labbān al-Asnāwī [?]. The copy was completed on Wednesday night on the 19th of Dhū al-Hijjah (i.e. Thursday morning) 1094 -- colophon (fol. 178b).Ownership statement on fol. 1a dated 1283 (1866-67).Incipit (as extant):ذلك من الاهل و سميته بهجة المحافل واجمل الوسايل بالتعريف برواة الشمايل فاقول وبالله استعين وهو حسبي ونعم الوكيلExplicit: وكان تمام ترقيمه والفراغ من تقديمه غرة ربيع الثاني من شهور السنة السابعة والثلاثين بعد الالف من الهجرة ... وحسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل انهاه جامعه الحقير ابراهيم اللقاني ... امين امين امين - Leather over pasteboard. Envelope flap. Blind tooled central mandorlas and blind roll borders on upper and lower covers. Same border design and a smaller blind stamped mandorla on the envelope flap. Label in Arabic on inside of upper cover: "Ḥ 517". Inscription on inside of upper cover in purple crayon: " Ḥadīth 48". - Commentary on al-Shamāʼil al-Nabawīyah by Muḥammad ibn ʻĪsá al-Tirmidhī (d. 892). According to the text, the work was completed at the beginning of Rabīʻ al-Thānī 1037 (1627) -- fol. 178b.
