Notlar Ms. codex.Title from fol. 3b.Copy completed on the 12th of Rabīʻ al-Ākhir 959 (1552) by Masʻūd bin Yūsuf al-ʻAjamī al-Ḥanafī -- colophon (fol. 238b).25 lines per page. Written in medium small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Foliation in Western numerals in pencil. Glazed European paper. Pages up to and including fol. 49 are replacement sheets in two different hands, layouts and on two different types of paper (one ff.1a-9b, and the other ff. 10a-49b). Ownership seal in blue ink on fol. 1a in the name of Irfan Yusuf, dated '98.Incipit: يقول العبد المتوصل الى الله تعالى باقوى الذريعة عبيد الله ابن مسعود ابن تاج الشريعة ... هذا حل المواضع المغلقة من قاوية الروايةExplicit: ومع ذلك يباح التناول اعتماد على الغالب والله اعلم واحكم - Cream paper over pasteboard on covers and envelope flap, with brown leather on spine and fore edge flap. Pastedowns and lining to envelope flap in cream paper. Lining to fore edge flap in brown leather. - A commentary on Wiqāyat al-riwāyah fī masāʼil al-Hidāyah, a work on fiqh by the author's grandfather, Maḥmūd ibn Ṣadr al-Sharīʻah al-Maḥbūbī (d. 1274 or 5). As for the work itself, Wiqāyat al-riwāyah is an epitome of the work called al-Hidāyah by ʻAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Marghīnānī (d. 1196 or 7).
