(3) + 299 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.Description: Rubricated ; MS in fair condition, some staining.Layout: 19 lines per page.Marginal notes and glosses. In the introduction the author states that he composed his work for the Sultan Muṣṭafá ibn Sulaymān [I], 960 [1553]. On the page before the first and the two folios preceding are several verses of poetry in Turkish and Persian, the autograph of an owner, a table of contents, a story about the caliph ʻAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, four Turkish seal impressions, another illegible one and some statements in Turkish. After the colophon and on the folio following are several verses of poetry and some statements in Turkish.Ms. codex.Origin: According to colophon copied 8 Muḥarram 1058 by Muḥammad al-Khaṭīb in Jāmiʻ al-Sulṭān Bā Yazīd (fol. 298b).Title from bottom edge of MS.Colophon: تم تنميق هذا الکتاب عن يد الفقير محمد الخطيب بجامع بايزيد خان عليه الرحمة والرضوان قصبته امکرمان وقت صبح اليوم الثامن من المحرم الحرام المنتظم لسنة ثمان وخمسين والف من الهجرة النبوية عليه افضل التحيةIncipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله الذي جعلني من علماء البيان - Type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-tooled eding and blind-stamped mandorlas with pendants on cover, flap, and along the spine. - An Arabic commentary on the Gulistān of Saʻdī ibn ʻAbd Allāh al-Shīrāzī, 691 [1291/2].
