[283أ] ... وذهبت الالف التى فى يا لاجتماع الساكنين لانها والسين ساكنتان قال ذو الرمّة الا يا اسلمى يا ديد ميّ على البلى ولا زال منهلًا يجرعايك القطر هذا آخر كتاب الصحاحPhysical description: 19 lines per page. Written in clear medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for headings and entries. Red dot text-stops. The text is vocalized. Cream paper with laid lines and pulp visible. Title on tail of text block (illegible).Origin: Copied for himself (li-nafsih) by Muḥammad ibn Maḥfūẓ ibn Maʻtūq ibn al-Buzūrī from a copy written partly by Abū Sahl Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Harawī al-Naḥwī and partly by Abū Manṣūr Mawhūb ibn al-Jawālīqī, and completed on Sunday 17 Shaʻbān 715 [Nov. 16, 1315] (colophon, fol. 283a). - Brown leather over paper pasteboards (visible due to damage on the leather) for upper and lower covers. Both covers are similarly tooled with a central panel defined by fillets with a central roundel defined by fillets and filled with a geometric interlace. The frame consists of fillets and a running pattern, with a leaf motif in each inner corner. Brown leather doublure, covered by modern paper pastedown. Re-backed. Apparently 14th or 15th cent. - Fourth and last volume of an elegant copy of a lexicon arranged according to the last letter of each root, comprising the text from Faṣl al-Sīn to the end.
