Text framed in blue, black, gold, and maroon lines with outer marginal black and gold frame. Marginal paper repairs to a few leaves; some smudging. Damp staining across upper margin. Frames partially detached on some leaves due to verdigris damage.Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwān on fol. 1b in a delicate floral pattern primarily of gold, blue, and maroon; margins of fol. 1b-2a decorated with floral/foliar design in the same colors, and the spaces between lines of text are partially filled with gold. Fol. 1 has extensive repairs and smudging, but decoration is largely intact.Origin: Copy completed by Ḥaz̤rat al-Sulṭānī, 1240 H [1824 or 5] (fol. 91a). - Leather spine; front cover detached and back cover missing. Cover is brown leather over pasted boards decorated as follows: central mandorla and pendants painted with flowers in red, yellow, and blue; gold-stamped fillet; outer frame of painted flowers in red, yellow, and blue. Heavily scuffed. Doublure is a painting of a flowering plant on a dark orange background.
