Dark cream paper, glossy, with laid lines and chain lines visible. Fol. 1 and 196 are later additions. Stained with dampness ; some worm damage ; a few loose leaves.Inscription in Arabic script in red pencil on fol. 1a: "Raqm 78".Origin: According to colophon, Text 2 copied by Yūsuf ibn Ibrāhīm, and completed in Mecca, on Wednesday 9 Rajab 848 [Oct. 22, 1444] (fol. 193b). - Red leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers have a central lozenge consisting of gilt impressions of a small circular stamp. Impressions of the same stamp in the inner corners of the border, which consists of a guilloche and fillets. Rebacked. Traces of an embossed leather doublure on fol. 195b. - Commentary on Manār al-anwār fī uṣūl al-fiqh, a treatise on Ḥanafī uṣūl al-fiqh by al-Nasafī (d. 710/1310), with selections from al-Jawāhir al-muḍiʼah fī ṭabaqāt al-Ḥanafīyah and from other texts.
