Notlar Ms. codex.Title from title page (fol. 1a).17 lines per page. Written in medium small nask in black ink with use of red for headins and re-inking. Light cream paper with laid and chain lines and pulp visible. Fol. 157 apparently two leaves pasted together. Fol. i and ii are later added flyleaves, European glazed paper with watermark. Marginal annotations (mostly collation notes, in two different hands). Verses of poetry refering to the book and other inscriptions on fol. 1a. Some quires are numbered using Arabic numerals in black ink (see "2" on fol. 11a) ; the numbering starts over at the beginning of part 2 (see fol. 131a: "al-thānī 1").Copy completed in 858 H. by Muḥammad ibn Salāmah ibn Sālim ibn Abī Bakr ibn ʻUmar al----? al-Anṭāqī al-Ḥalabī al-Qādirī al-Ḥanafī, imām of the Jāmiʻ Mankalībughā al-Shamsī (colophon, fol. 253b).Inscription in Western numerals on a circular label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "1108". Inscription in Roman script on a label pasted on fol. (i)a: "1=405..."Incipit: اخبر الفقيه الاجل ابو القسم عبد الرحمن بن مكي الحافظ السُلفى قال اخبرنى الفقيه الاجل ابو الحسن بن حبير الكتانى اجازةً منه بثغر اسكندرية قال حدثنى ابو عبد الله التميمى اجازةً قال حدثنى ابو الفضل عياض بن موسى بن عياض اليحصبى رضى الله عنه بسماعى عليه قال الحمد لله المنفرد باسمه الاسما المختص بالملك الاعزّ الاحمى ... اما بعد اشرق الله قلبى وقلبك بانوار اليقين ولطف لي ولك بما لطف به لاولياءه المتقينExplicit: ولا يرد دعوة القاصدين ولا يصلح عمل المفسدين وهو حسبنا ونعم الوكيل وصلوته وسلامه على خير خلقه محمد خاتم النبيين وآله وصحبه اجمعين - Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Both covers have an elaborate blind-tooled outer frame defining a panel with a central medallion consisting of a star motif formed by the interlace of several fillets, inscribed within two circular fillets. The spaces defined by these fillets are filled with dot punching, with traces of gilt. Similar tooling on the envelope flap. Cloth and paper doublure. Fore-edge flap repaired. - Treatise on the life of Muḥammad and the devotional obligations of the Muslims towards the Prophet. In this copy, the text starts with the chain of transmitters.
