Record follows erroneous foliation.Physical description: 17 lines per page; written in nastaʻliq in black on machine-made paper. Arabic quotations in naskh and overlined in red. Rubrication and catchwords; marginal corrections and cross-outs. Paginated in Arabic script. Table of contents begun on fol. 2bis(a); fol. 2bis(b)-18bis(a) are framed for a table of contents, but left blank. Light staining; lower half of first leaf torn away. In excellent condition.Origin: This is likely a holograph, as there are numerous cross-outs. Poems on fol. 18bis(b) and 1a indicate that the original text was completed in 1323 H [1905 or 6]; this corresponds to the Marʻashī catalog, which states that the first volume was completed in 1323 H.Incipit: الحمدلله الواحد الاحد و الدائم بلا اجل و لا امد ... و بعد نگارندۀ اين گوهر آگىن اوراق و طرازندۀ اين غبرىن اطباق کمىن بندۀ خالق ذو المنن محمد على ناظم الشرىعه همدان بن محمد حسن - Contemporary full black leather with blind-tooled fillets; brown paper pastedowns and flyleaves. - Polemic against the claims of the Bābīs. Entire work consists of a muqaddimah, 51 maqālah, and a khātimah; this copy contains the first volume which ends with maqālah 31. The incipit after "va baʻd" does not correspond to the one listed in the Marʻashī catalog. Likely a holograph.
