Written in black ink with use of red for headings and overlining. The text is framed within a single red line. Thick European paper with watermark. Fol. 1a consists on a free endpaper pasted on the recto of a first later added fol. Fol. 3 consists of a later added leaf pasted on the recto of the first fol. of the text. Inscriptions are visible by transparency. Occasional marginal annotations, mainly excerpts from Mishkāt al-anwār and Tabyīn al-maḥārim. Inscription in Arabic on fol. 1a, on the virtues of reading the Qurʼān. Foliation in black ink using Arabic numerals (starts with "1" on fol. 7a).Origin: Copy completed by Muṣṭafá ibn ʻAbd Allāh in the middle of Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1046 [May 1637], on a Friday, between the two prayers (colophon, fol. 341b). - Marbled paper over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers and envelope flap. Brown leather spine and fore-edge flap. Dark gold paper pastedown and free endpaper, gold sparkled. - One hundred assemblies, consisting of traditions from the Maṣābīḥ al-sunnah by al-Ḥusayn ibn Masʻūd al-Baghawī (d. 516/1122) with paraenetic commentary. See table of contents in preamble (fol. 4a-6b). The text is preceded by a short text entitled Manājāt Abū Saʻūd Efendi and several excerpts from Mishkāt al-anwār, written by a later hand (fol. 1b-2b).
