Notlar Ms. codex.Title from fol. 2a.Physical description: 25 lines per page. Written in medium small taʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Cream and biscuit paper with laid lines visible. Ḥāshiyah on the margin. Fol. 1 and 201 are later added fly-leaves (European paper), with table of contents on fol. 1a, and a note on fol. 201a. Catchword on the verso of each leaf.Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Raqm 14".Origin: Copy completed in Muḥarram 842 [June-July 1438] by ʻĀbid ibn Amīn ʻĀrif Aqsarāʼī al-Ḥanafī (colophon, fol. 200b).Incipit: نحمدك اللهم على ما هديتنا اليه من دقايق المعانى ببدايع البيان واطلعتنا عليه ... وبعد فقد طال ما جال فى صدري ودار فى خلدى ان ارتّب للقسم الثالث من مفتاح العلوم شرحا ... قال المص رحمه الله القسم الثالث من الكتاب فى علمى المعانى والبيان اقول رتّب كتابه على ثلاثة اقسام واردفها بتكملة وفنين وتوجيهه ان علم العربية المسمى بعلم الادبExplicit: فوجب ان يورد في كتابه علم الاستدلال المشتمل على علم الحدّ لانه جزء من علم البلاغة كما صرّح به فيما مرّ وحقّقه ههنا وهذا آخر ما يسّر الله تع بمنّه ولطفه من كشف فوايد هذا العلم ونظم فرايده ونساءل الله تع ان ينفع به المسترشدين وان يجعله ذخرا لنا يوم الدين قد نجزه الفراغ من تاءليفه اوسط شوّال سنه ثلث وثمانمايه - Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Blind-stamped central mandorla, outer frame of fillets and a guilloche. Traces of a now wanting fore-edge and envelope flap. Disbound. - Commentary on the third part of Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm, by Sirāj al-Dīn Yūsuf ibn Abī Bakr al-Sakkākī (d. 626/1228 or 29), on rhetoric (al-Maʻānī wa-al-bayān). The commentary is known as al-Misbāḥ fī sharḥ al-Miftāḥ, and was completed in Shawwāl 803 [1401] according the end of the text.
Kaynak Obliterated inscription, probably waqf statement, with obliterated seal (fol. 2a ; the same seal, obliterated, appears on fol. 200b). Note on fol. 201a, stating that this copy was bought from ʻAbd al-Karīm ibn Khiḍr(?) in Baghdād. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
