Written in a poor medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for the entries and punctuation. The entries are often repeated on the margin. European glazed paper. Fol. 8 is a later replacement. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Some notes in several hands in the margin. The pages have been trimmed so that part of the marginalia is lost. Collation notes by the same hand as the main text on fol. 49a and 64a. Ownership statements (fol. 1a); long note (fol. 64b). Table of content by a recent hand on the pastedown of the upper cover. Pagination using Arabic numerals in black ink by a later hand in the middle of the upper margin (starting fol. 1b). Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.There are two colophons: one on fol. 49a, dated 6 Yawm al-Khamīs 6 [Dhū] al-Qaʻdah [written on "Shawwāl(?)"; 6 Shawwāl is a Thursday] 1117, and the other on fol. 64a, dated 13 [Dhū] al-Qaʻdah 1117.Copied by Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Naṣīr al-Ṭāhir on 13 [Dhū] al-Qaʻdah 1117 (colophon, fol. 64a).Incipit: باب ما جا فى دكر قصور اليمن و معاقلها اقدم سيء قصر عمدان قال الحسن الهمداني اول قصور اليمن واعجبها دكرا وابعدها صيتا قصر عمدانExplicit: ااستهار قبر النبى المدكور فى القرن العاشر وهى مواطن حمير وستعمر والله سبحانه وتعالى اعلم و احكم انتهى ما دكره الحسن الهمدانى ... باب دكر ما حفط من مراثى حمير ومواصع قبورها ... الف ملك سقاهم الدهر كاسا مرة رلرلت بهم كل ارض - Modern binding of paper pasted on cardboards. - Treatise on the history of South Arabia.
