Notlar Ms. codex.Title supplied by the cataloger.Copied by ʻAbd al-ʻAlī bin Muḥammad bin al-Ḥājj Abī Bakr al-Maghribī [?] al-Shāfiʻī al-Qādirī in 944 (1537 or 1538) -- colophon (fol. 235a).23 lines per page. Written in a casual medium small naskh in black ink. Catchwords on the verso of each folio. Ff. 235b-236b have a short text containing al-Jīlānī's explanation concerning the wearing of the khirqah. Fol. 237a has two short paragraphs in verse entitled Kitāb Futūḥ al-ghayb, signed "kātibuhu al-Ḥājj Ḥasan", and dated 1020 (1611-12) and 1077 (1666-67). Fol. 237b has another excerpt quoting al-Jīlānī. Thick dark cream paper with no visible chain or laid lines. A lot of the leaves are loose, particularly in the first half of the ms. and there is substantial damp and animal damage.Incipit (as extant): السلام كالعصيا واحيا الموتى في حق موسى وعيسىExplicit: وقيل اذ اطلب الله بالصدق اعطاك مراة يتصر فيها كل شي من عجايب الدنيا والاخرة - Brown leather with envelope flap. No upper cover and substantial damage to the rest of the binding. Blind roll, fillets and rosetta stamps around the border of lower cover. Blind stamped mandorla in the centre. Same design on the envelope flap with a smaller blind stamped mandorla. Blind tooled design on the fore edge flap, made with roll, fillets and rosetta stamps around the borders and an obliod floral design blind stamp in the middle of the flap. Lining to the envelope flap and pastedown in a foliage design cut-out in purple paper over olive paper, with evidence of the cut-out sections having had gold over them, most of which has disappeared. Lining to the fore edge flap in brown leather, with blind fillets in a diced pattern. - Jīlānī's comprehensive treatise covering Islamic ethics, practices and ritual, and Sufism. This copy is incomplete at the start.
