Water-damaged.Origin: Copy completed on Yawm al-Aḥad 23 Rajab 756 by Maḥmūd ibn Mahdī (Muḥammad?) in Bahsanī (colophon, fol. 20a, refering also to Fakhr al-Dīn, known as al-Uṣūlī, and followed by two verses of poetry).Incipit: الحمد لله ذي الجلال والاكرام والصلوة والسلام على رسوله محمد ... الانام و ... اصحابه الكرام قال الشيخ الامام الاجل نور الدين ... الصابونى البخارى رحمه الله وبعد لما تيسر الفراغ لى حمدا لله ومنّه ... الكفاية فى الهداية التمس منى بعض الاصحاب ان الخص منه ما هو العمدة.Explicit: خلافا لما يقوله الباطنية والفلاسفة وتاويل كل واحد منهما على خلاف ظاهره وانه عدول ظواهر النصوص من غير ضرورة ولا دليل وهو الحاد محض كذا روية الله تع بالابصار للمومنين يوم القيمة حق ثابت على ما قررنا قبل هذا اكرمنا الله تع بها فى العقبى مع النعيم المقيم واعاذنا من عذاب الجحيم و ... (؟) فى الدنيا على الصّراط المستقيم انه جواد كريم ورؤف رحيم والحمد لله على التمام وللرسول افضل السلام تمت الكتاب. - Later quarter-bound type III (without flap) binding in red leather and brown and black marbled paper over paper pasteboards. Paper pastedowns. - Of the two works mentioned in the title, only the first one is extant in the ms. This is an abridgment by the author of his al-Kifāyah fī al-nihāyah, a treatise on uṣūl al-dīn, comprising chapters on God and his attributes, creation, prophecy, imamate, human actions and faith, written against the Muʻtazilah, philosophers, and Bāṭinīyah.
