Written in medium small naskh with elements of taʻlīq in black ink with use of red for overlining and for the word "qawluh" (spaces for the latter left blank on some leaves). Thin light biscuit paper with large laid lines and pulp visible. Fol. 416b-418b: Blank. Fol. 1 and 417-418 are a later added flyleaves on European paper with watermark, with inscriptions on fol. 1a.Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 213/2". Inscription in red pencil in Arabic script on fol. 1a: "Uṣūl 1/78".Copy completed on 1 Jumādá al-Ākhar 988 [July 14, 1580] (colophon, fol. 416a).Incipit: الحمد لله على شمول نعمه الجسام ... وبعد فان ارباب العقول مطابقون واصحاب النقل متوافقون على ان العلم وان تشعت افاننه ... [4أ] ... قوله الحمد لله الذى احكم بكتابه اصول الشريعة الغراء الخ الاحكام الاتقان والكتاب فى اللغة كالكتب [4ب] لكتب والكتابة مصدر كتبExplicit: ترك السقوط ولا يجوز ان يجوز سقوط الصلاة فى الجملة بالاعذار ولا يجوز السقوط حرمة تركها فى الجملة بالاعذار هذا آخر ما اردنا ايراده فى حواشى الكتاب مستعينا بالملك الوهاب والحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة على سيدنا محمد واله اجمعين الطيبين الطاهرين - Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Traces of a now wanting envelope flap. Both covers have a red stamped central mandorla with an arabesque and an outer border consisting of fillets. Blue paper pastedowns. Rebacked. - Gloss on Talwīḥ fī kashf ḥaqāʼiq al-Tanqīḥ, a commentary by Masʻūd ibn ʻUmar al-Taftazānī (d. 791/1389) on Tanqīḥ al-uṣūl, a treatise on uṣūl al-fiqh by ʻUbayd Allāh ibn Masʻūd al-Maḥbūbī (d. 747/1346).
