Ḥāshiyah on the margin attributed to Saʻdī Çelebi and others. Light cream paper, glossy, with chain lines visible (in groups of three). Table of contents on fol. 5b. Several inscriptions on fol. 3b-6a, including verses of poetry in Ottoman Turkish and kabīkaj. Title on tail of textblock. Majority of quinions.Decoration: Basmalah written in white outlined in black on a gold ground with scroll in black in a cartouche. Upper and lower covers have a blind stamped central scalloped mandorla filled with a floral pattern and outlined in gold with radiating flecks. The outer border consists of blind tooled fillets and a gilt guilloche, outlined in gold. Similar border on the envelope flap, with smaller stamp with similar pattern and outline. Fillets on the fore-edge flap. Paper pastedowns. - Last part of a commentary on al-Hidāyah, a commentary by ʻAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Marghīnānī (d. 593/1197) on his compendium of Ḥanafī law, Bidāyat al-mubtadiʼ fī furūʻ al-fiqh al-Ḥanafī. This part comprises the text from Kitāb al-ʻĀriyah to the end.
