Paginated in Arabic script beginning on fol. 8a. Fol. 90-91 stained. Text block almost complete detached from binding. Otherwise in good condition.Origin: A note by a different hand states that the text was completed in Rajab 1052 H [September-October 1642] (fol. 119b); however, this contradicts the muqaddimah in which the author states he wrote his Miṣbāḥ al-ʻilāj for Nādir Shāh [r. 1736-47] (fol. 5a). According to Fihrist-i nuskhahʹhā-yi khaṭṭī-i Khāndān Maybudī, this text was completed in 1207 H [1792 or 3].Incipit: الحمدلله رب العالمين ... اما بعد چنين گويد كلب آستان رضوي و حاجب مرتضوي درگاه ابو طالب الشريف الحسيني كه چون اين بندۀ درگاه - Limp orange-brown leather with blind-tooled fillets. - An abridgment of the author's treatise on medicine, Miṣbāḥ al-ʻilāj, which was written at the request of Nādir Shāh (fol. 5b); the abridgment consists of a muqaddimah, 20 bāb, and a khātimah. Text is preceded by a table on contents on fol. 1b-4b and followed by charts on fol. 120a-125b.
