Notlar Ms. codex.Physical description: 15 lines per page; written in naskhi script in black on glossy white paper. Catchwords; tajwīd markings in red. Extensive water damage in second quarter of ms.; a few pages stuck together and some smudging resulting in some loss of text. Text is followed by a one-page prayer on fol. 305a. Notes in Ottoman Turkish on fol. 304a and p. 1 of back endpaper.Decoration: Text framed in red and gold; āyahs terminate in gold discs. On fol. 1b-2a are two well-executed polychrome and gilt illuminated headers with floral design; margins decorated with pale gilt floral pattern. Surah headings in white on gold and framed in one of a variety of colors. Ajzāʾ marked in margins in white set within polychrome and gilt flowers; sajdahs marked in margins in white set within polychrome and gilt mandorlas.Origin: Copied in 1241 AH (1825 or 6) by Aḥmad al-Walī (or al-Wakī), a student of Muḥammad al-Zuhdī (fol. 304b). - Full brown leather binding with gold-stamped central mandorla, corner designs, and fillets; corners repaired. Green endpapers.
