Light cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines, and fiber visible. Marginal annotations, some apparently by another hand than the main text.Origin: Copy completed on a Friday in Dhū al-Ḥijjah 849 by Khalīl ibn Masʻūd al---sārī [Hitti reads: al-Niksārī] (colophon, fol. 105b).Beginning as extant: العروس مكان ترفع عليه العروس للجلوة وكشف القناع عن جمال مجملات كتابه بسنه ... المصطفى وفصل خطابه اى الخطاب الفاصل بين الحق والباطلExplicit: حرمه لا تحتمل السقوط وحرمه تحتمل السقوط لكنها لم تسقط وهما حق الله تعالى ويجب الضمان لوجود العصمة والله ولى العصمة - Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers are similarly blind-tooled, with a central mandorla filled with an elaborate knot-work and an outer border consisting of fillets, a guilloche, and a running pattern, with knot-work outlined by a fillet with radiating flecks in the inner corners. Spine and fore-edge flap mended. Paper pastedowns (with inscriptions). - Acephalous copy of a commentary on the author's Tanqīḥ al-Uṣūl, on the principles of jurisprudence. The text is followed on fol. 106a by a "Faṣl fī al-munāsabah wa-al-mulāʼmah wa-al-tathīr".
