Well-executed polychrome and gold illuminated ʻunwāns on fol. 1b (slightly damaged), 250b. Simple blue, gold, and red header on fol. 2a. Text bordered by gold and blue with outer marginal gold line on fol. 1b-2a, 250b-251a. Remainder of text bordered by two red lines with central blue line and outer marginal blue line. Rubrication and catchwords; some marginal notes. Fol. 134-177 detached from text block. Loose insert between fol. 269, 270. Paper repairs to first few and last few leaves; about a third of fol. 295 is missing. Damp staining in lower margin.Origin: Maqālah 1 completed 11 Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1095 H. [20 October 1684] (fol. 249b). Maqālah 2 completed 10 Ṣafar (fol. 295b); year is torn away but likely to be 1096 H. [16 January 1685]. - Full maroon leather binding with tooled fillets; spine repaired. - Materia medica, divided into 2 maqālah: 1) Simple medicines, fol. 1b-249b. 2) Compound medicines, fol. 250b-295b.
