Written in a medium small naskh in black ink with use of red and blue. Text is written inside a frame outlined in gold leaf and black, red and blue ink, and on fol. 2b-3a with additional lines in orange and green ink. Fol. 2b has an illuminated head piece executed in gold leaf with blue, black, orange, white, green and purple watercolors. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Cream glazed paper with prominent pulp. Foliation in Arabic numerals in black ink. Fol. 158a and 159a have a contents grid (unfilled) in red ink. Added title in pencil on fol. 1a: "Behǧet ʻAbdelgāder el-Ǧilānī" and number "23". Number "127" in Arabic numerals on the lower edge of text block. An obliterated ownership stamp on fol. 2a.Explicit: والباطن وهو بكل شي عليم وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وآله وصحبه اجمعين والتابعين لهم باحسان الى يوم الدينIncipit: حمد بحد وثناي لا يعد اول قادر قديم وصانع حكيم كه قلوب اوليا - Brown leather with envelope flap. Gold guilloches and fillets around borders and gold mandorlas with pendants in the centre of covers and on the envelope flap. Brown leather doublures with gold fillets around borders. - A translation of Shaṭṭanūfī's biography of ʻAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī and thirty-six other shaykhs belonging to his order.
