Text occasionally written on a diagonal. Columns and headings framed in gold; text framed in blue and gold. Catchwords. Original text has been set within a frame of thinner laid Arabic paper. Numerous paper repairs and some leaves entirely replaced. Both the original text and the paper frame are damp stained, particularly along upper portion of text. Extensive water damage on fol. 8, but text still legible. Text is incomplete with numerous pages missing and some pages out of order.Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwans on fol. 1b, 66b in blue, gold and red, marking the beginning of texts 2, 3. On fol. 1b-2a, 66b-67a, columns demarcated by blue lines filled with a polychrome floral pattern. Headings in gold on a floral background; similar floral pattern used to fill empty spaces around diagonal text. Six miniatures likely from the 19th century.Origin: First text completed on 10 Rabīʻ I 898 H [30 December 1492] (fol. 1a). Second text completed on 10 Rajab 898 H [27 April 1493] (fol. 66a). - Limp brown leather with simple tooled geometric pattern; blue paper doublures. - Illuminated and incomplete collection of Niẓāmī Ganjavī's epic poems, with six miniatures likely from the 19th century.
