Notlar A manuscript from 1197/1782 Turkey on diseases and medicinal herbs being Nuzlat al-abdan fi-tarjamat Ghayat al-itqan. This work is a medical encyclopedia on chemical medicine composed by Ibn Sallum al-Halabi (d. 1081/1670) who was Sultan Mehmet IV's (reigned 1648-1687) chief physician in Istanbul and one of his entourage. Ibn Sallum al-Halabi knew Latin and had direct access to 17th-century European printed texts. The translator was the chief physician in Sultan Ahmet Hospital. Manuscript is calligraphed by Mustafa b. al-Haji Muhammad.
