Record follows Arabic foliation.Physical description: 9 lines per page; Arabic text in large thuluth in gold with black outline and vocalization in blue, Persian text in small nastaʻliq, on heavy, cream-colored, glazed, laid Arabic paper. Persian catchwords. Light damp staining in upper outer corner and on inner margin, resulting in smudging of some frames. Otherwise in very good condition.Decoration: On fol. 1b, richly illuminated ʻunwān in gold, blue, and orange with a delicate floral pattern. On fol. 1b-2a, the text is set within clouds on a gold background, which is decorated with orange, pale blue, and yellow flowers. One line of Arabic text alternates with two lines of Persian, each set within boxes framed in orange. The width of the boxes containing Persian text are smaller and the empty spaces on either side are filled with orange and yellow flowers on a blue background. The entire text area is framed in orange, gold, and blue lines. The remainder of the text is laid out in a similar manner, except the background for text boxes is plain and the decoration on either side of the Persian text boxes features a gold floral pattern on a blue background.Incipit: لو کشف الغطاء ما ازددت ىقىنا - Full black leather with flap; gold-stamped central panel and fillets. Brown leather doublures with stamped central mandorla and corner designs, painted blue, and gold-tooled decorations and fillets. - A richly illuminated copy of the proverbs of ʻAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, with interlinear Persian translation in verse.
