Notlar	Ms. codex.Title supplied by cataloger.Physical description: 13 lines per page, in two columns; written in nastaʻliq in black on thin, white glazed, laid Arabic paper. Catchwords. Text framed in blue, gold, and orange, with outer marginal gold border. Light staining and smudging; otherwise in excellent condition.Decoration: Lavishly illuminated two-page spread on fol. 1b-2a, consisting of four couplets set within rectangles, on a four-pointed star set upon a large rectangle; executed in a delicate floral pattern in gold, blue, orange, and lavender. Columns separated by a dark blue line filled with a gold foliar pattern; occasionaly the pattern is also on the outer borders of each column where the verses do not fill up the space. Last couplet of each ghazal set within a central rectangle, the spaces on either side of which are filled with flowers on gold ground; a similar pattern is also used to separate quatrains. Headers consist of a central gold lozenge, bordered on either side by an orange line and gold pattern on dark blue ground; most headers not filled in.Origin: Likely from India, late 19th century. - Lacquered binding, consisting of floral design in red, yellow, green, and gold on black ground with gold fillets. Lacquered doublures, consisting of a central floral bouquet on red ground, flanked by small plants at the bottom and corner designs at the top, all framed in a black border decorated with gold and white lines. - Illuminated copy of the Dīvān of Ḥāfiẓ.
