Notlar Ms. composite codex (one work but different dates).Title from fol. 1a (also mentioned at the beginning of the text).Label on upper cover: "MSS 206". Several short inscriptions on fol. ia (one is inverted).Layout: 21-27 lines per page ; partially frame-ruled in red.Description: Written in a medium small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. The older section of the ms. is written inside a single line frame outlined in red ink. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Two different types of glazed paper.Origin: The ms. is a composite codex: several pages at the beginning and fol. 137-188 are a later replacement. This replacement is dated the last 10 days of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1119 (1708) and was copied by Ahmet Vehbi el-Kastamonî, a former kadi of the town of ... [?]. The rest of the ms., the original copy, is older, the earliest date present on that part of ms. being that of Shaʻbān 1097 (1686) (see one of the ownership statements on fol. 1a).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى انزل القرأن ليبين الشرايع الأمان بلسان عربى مبين على محمد امام المتقين والصلوة عليه وعلى آله اجمعين اما بعد بلكل كه علوم دينيه واحكام شرعيه عرب لغتى اوزرينه وارد اولمشدرExplicit: همزهء وصل اولديغيچون ويانك الفى ده حذف اولندى اجتماع ساكنين الحون يانك الفى واسمى وانك سينى ساكنلردر والله تعالى اعلم الصواب واليه المرجع والماب - Type III (without flap) binding in red leather over pasteboard. Simple gold-tooled frame design on covers made with a narrow gold roll. Pastedowns in a decorative paper of red background with floral pattern in gold ink. - A translation into Ottoman Turkish of the Arabic lexicon by Jawharī. According to the text, the translation is based both on the original text, Ṣiḥāḥ al-Jawharī, and the abridgment of the original, Mukhtār al-Ṣiḥāḥ by Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr al-Rāzī.
