Written in a medium small ruqʻah with elements of nastaʻlīq in black ink with some use of red for rubrication. Text is written inside a gold leaf frame outlined in black ink. On fol. 4b-5a the frame is double with green watercolor between the two frames and all is further outlined in one line of red ink. A small gold leaf ʻunwān on fol. 4b. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper. Pagination in Arabic numerals in black ink (incomplete). Foliation in pencil in Western numerals. Fol. 2b-3a have a table of contents in black ink, inside a gold leaf frame outlined in black ink and ruled in red ink. Fol. 169b-172a have the gold leaf text frames, but are left blank. Date 21 of Ṣafar 1292 (1875) on fol. 4a (in same hand and ink as in the table of contents and pagination).Illuminations:1. Fol. 4b-5a: illuminated text frames consisting of double gold leaf frames with the space between them filled with green watercolor and the whole outlined in one line of red ink. Lining to the fore edge flap in green silk. Flyleaves in light olive paper sprinkled in gold. - A treatise on the Nakşibandiyye order of dervishes, composed in 1197 (1782-3) -- see end of text on fol. 153b. The work includes an illuminated graphic presentation of a Nakşibandi şecere (chain of authority) on fol. 52b-67a. The text ends on fol. 153b, and is then followed by excerpts of poetry by Şeyhi (inside the same outlined text frames and in the same hand as the main text) on fol. 154b-169a.
