Text, columns, and headings framed in gold; headings in gold. Catchwords. Fol. 31a blank. Damp staining across upper margin; otherwise in excellent condition.Decoration: On fol. 1a, illuminated medallion with pendants in gold, blue, and orange; medallion contains the six titles contained in this volume set within small gold medallions. On fol. 1b-2a, illuminated two-page spread in similar colors, containing the title of the volume and the beginning of the first text. Thereafter the beginning of each text is marked by an illuminated ʻunwan with the title written in white and set within a gold lozenge. Nine good quality miniatures of the Timurid school.Origin: First text completed on 15 Rajab 847 H [8 November 1443] (fol. 30b). Remainder of volume completed by Maḥmūd ibn Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Tustarī al-mushtahir bi-Kāghidhī on 20 Shawwāl 849 H [19 January 1446] in Abarqūh (fol. 356b). - Full brown leather with gold-stamped central mandorla, pendants, and corner designs and blind-stamped fillets; marbled paper doublures. Likely 18th century. - Illuminated collection of Niẓāmī Ganjavī's five epic poems, illustrated with nine good quality miniatures of the Timurid school.
