Notlar Ms. codex.Title from colophon on fol. 104b. Other title from VOHD (see ref. below). The colophon states that the work was copied by Ahmet Rifat bin Abdülkerim, a çavuş at the "el-Cami el-Kebir", in 1303 (1885-86) -- colophon (fol. 104b). However, this almost certainly does not apply to the entire ms, as the first page (fol. 2) and fol. 98-104 are later replacements in a different hand and on different paper, while the bulk of the text is in a completely different hand and on older paper. The bulk of the ms. has 19 lines per page, is written in a small, casual siyāqat in black ink with use of red for rubrication. The later replacements also have 19 lines per page, but are written in a small casual naskh in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. The older part of the ms. is on glazed paper with watermarks, the replacements are on cream wove paper. Following the colophon are six pages of verse (on fol. 105a-108a) in the same hand as the replacement pages of the main text; these have their own colophon on fol. 108a: written on the 27th of Shawwāl 1303 in the town of Kānāyīs [Egypt?].Incipit: حمد اول احده كه ذاتى معماسى غير اسمادن چقمق مشكل وكنهى لغزى اوصاف وسمات ايله بلنمكه دكل قابل اللهExplicit: الله اكا توفيق ويرسون اسماء حسناسى معمالرنك حلنه ويوجه ضقلرى لغزلرندن كشفه فى اواخر شهر رمضان المبارك لسنه ست وخمسين وثمانمائه سكز يوز اللى التى ييلك رمضان مباركنك اخرلرنده شكر ومنت واهب حسن ومقاله كه تمام اولدى ترجمهء رساله فى اول اخر الربيعين لسنه احدى واربعين وتسعمائه هجرة هلاليه - Cream paper over pasteboard on covers with brown leather on spine and around cover edges. - A translation/paraphrase of a Persian work of Jamī's on the subject of enigmatic properties of letters (ʻilm al-ḥurūf), entitled, according to the ms., Muʻammayāt asmāʾ al-ḥusná. This work perhaps corresponds to one of the four risālahs on the same subject listed in Jāmī, Naqd al-nuṣūṣ, ed. by Chittick, William C., Tehran 1977, introduction, pp. 20-21. The ms. also has an added title in a later hand on the upper margin of fol. 3a: Şerh-i kulliyât-i kavaid-i muamma-yi Mir Hüsayn [?]. According to the end of text, the composition of the original work in Persian was completed in the last ten days of Ramaḍān 856 (1452), and the composition of the Ottoman version was completed on the 1st of Rabīʻ al-Ākhir 941 (1534) -- see fol. 104b.
