The first part covers the arithmetic of whole numbers. The second part deals with fractions; the third, with roots; and the fourth, with unknowns. It is stated in the preface that the work is an abridgment of the authorʼs own work Kashf al-jilbāb ʻan ʻilm al-ḥisāb.
