Crude illuminated headpiece (ʻunwān) in red, gold, and blue on fol. 1b. The text is framed within black, gold and blue lines. Fol. 1 consists of a later piece of paper pasted on the verso of an original fol. Fol. 29-60 are later replacements. Fol. 481b-483b: Blank.According to the colophon, copy completed on Yawm al-Arbaʻāʼ 8 Shaʻbān 840 by Maḥmūd ibn Amīr Aḥmad ibn Majd al-Dīn Ismāʻīl al-Qārī al-Shīrāzī (colophon, fol. 481a). - Red leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Covers and envelope flap gold block stamped with sunk central mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis (medalion on the point of envelope flap) and corner-pieces. Gold painted fillets on fore-edge flap. Brown leather doublure with gold ruled margins. Central square shaped gold grid on its point on the doublure of upper and lower covers. - Complete copy of the Ṣaḥīḥ of Muslim.
