Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Sh 7", repeated in red pencil on fol. 1a.Copy completed on 13 Rajab 938 [Feb. 20, 1532] by Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad Ibn Aḥmad al-Sanhūrī al-Shāfiʻī al-Azharī (colophon, fol. 226b).Collation: Paper, fol. 227 ; 1¹⁰ (-1, before fol. 1) 2-22¹⁰ 23⁸ ; catchword on the verso of each leaf ; the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals in the form "Thālith" (see fol. 20a).Incipit: الحمد لله محق الحق ومبطل الباطل ... وبعد فان من مهمات الدين التنبيه على ما وضع من الحديثExplicit: موضوع معان يحدث عن الثقات بالمنكرات والله اعلم نجز الجزء الاول من اللالي ... السيوطي ... يتلوه اول الجزء الثاني كتاب الاطعمة - Upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap made of dark brown leather over papper pasteboards. Both covers have a large blind stamped mandorla with blind stamped and gold painted pendants on the vertical axis. Blind tooled outer frame with small corner pieces. Similar outer frame on the envelope flap, with a smallgold painted motif on its point. The fore-edge flap has a geometrical decoration. Golden brown leather doublure. - First part (up to Kitāb al-Nikāḥ)of a treatise on forged ḥadīth, being an abridgment of Ibn al-Jawzī's Mawḍūʻāt.
