Thick cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines visible. Collation notes on the margins. Fol. 1 consists of two leaves pasted one on the other. The quires (mainly quinions) are numbered using Arabic ordinals in the form "thālith" (see fol. 21a) ; stops after fol. 211a.Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on pastedown of the upper cover: "101".Origin: According to colophon, completed on 20 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 765 [Sept. 18, 1364] by ʻAlī ibn al-ḥājj ---(?) al---wāsī(?) (fol. 356b, followed by a prayer).Incipit: الحمد لله خالق الظلام والضيا ومبدع الاشيا كما شا وجاعل العلمآ بدو رسةآ الاقتدا وشموس افلال الاهتدا ... وبعد لما كان علم الفقه من اشرف العلوم واعلاها بعد علم التوحيد واصول الدين لانه مظهر حقية الصراط المستقيم ... يقول العبد الضعيف محمد بن محمد بن احمد الخباري تاب الله عليه وغفر له ولوالديه حدثنى بهذا الكتاب شيخس وسيدي وسندي ومولاي كشاف المشكلات ... علا الدين عبد العزيز بن احمد البخاري طيّب الله ثراه ... Paper pastedowns and free endpaper. - First part of a commentary on al-Hidāyah, a work on Ḥanafī fiqh by ʻAlī ibn Abī bakr al-Marghinānī (d. 593/1197), comprising the text from Kitāb al-Ṭahārah to the end of Kitāb al-Ṣalāh. The text is preceded on fol. 1a, and followed on fol. 357a-360b by several short texts, including prayers and texts on medicine and secret sciences, with magical script.
