Modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals (omits the first fol.).Origin: Copied for himself (li-nafsih) by ʻAbd Allāh Ibn Aḥmad al-Dayr(?) in the Madrasah SMīsāṭīyah, next to the Ummayad Mosque [Damascus], and completed on Tuesday 29 Shawwāl 1105 [June 23, 1694] (colophon, fol. 16a).Incipit: يقول محمد سبط الماردينى الشافعي الحمد لله الذي جبر قلوب اوليايه بحسن المقابلة يوم الحساب ... اما بعد فهذا تعليق مختصر سهل نافع ان شاء الله تعالى وضعته شرحا على الارجوزة الياسمينية في علم الجبر والمقابلة نظم الشيخ الامام العلم العلامة ابي محمد عبد الله ابن حجاج المعروف بابن الياسميني ... على ثلاثة يدور الجبر المال والاعداد ثم الجذر اي مسايل علم الجبر ---؟ ضروبا دايرة على ثلاثة انواع فقطExplicit: و قد يظهر لك استحالتها بالنظر فيها وفي هذا القدر الذي اوردته كفاية للمبتدي ان شا الله تعالى وحسبي الله ونعم الوكيل ولا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلي العظيم - Long commentary on al-Urjūzah by ʻAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad al-Yāsamīnī (d. 601/1204), a versified treatise on arithmetic. On the margin of the last page of the text is a Fāʼidah (fol. 16a). The text is followed on fol. 16b-17a by a short text on the magical use of verses of the Qurʼān.
