The month appears to be a moniker for one of the Islamic months; the date 1186 in the Hijri calendar [1772 or 3] seems reasonable given the paper and script. The other volume in the set was completed in Murshidābād, by Shaykh Luṭf Allāh valad-i Shaykh Muḥammad Bāqir.Incipit: حمد و سپاس بىقىاس معبودى را سزاوار است - Plain boards with marbled paper on back cover; cloth spine; with brown paper wrapper. - Volume 1 of a Persian translation of the Hidāyah, translated by Ghulām Yaḥyá, itself a commentary on the author's Bidāyat al-mubtadá, a work on Hanafite law. This ms. contains kitāb al-ṭahārah - kitāb al-ḥajj; with a list of contents on fol. 1b-3b. This volume is part of the same set as New Series no. 1781.
