Notlar Ms. codex.Title from front flyleaf.Copy completed in 964 (1556 or 57), in Aleppo, in the Bayāḍīyah mosque, by Muḥammad Abū al-Qāsim [al-Biyūndī ?] al-Ṭāliqānī -- colophon (fol. 315a).19 lines per page. Written in small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is written within a frame outlined with two lines in red ink, with margins outlined with one line in red ink, except on ff. 5b and 6a which have frames in gold leaf outlined in black ink and no margins. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Foliation in Arabic numerals in black ink and in Western numerals in pencil. Glazed European paper. Ff. 3b-4a have a table of contents in black and red ink. Some marginal annotations throughout. Ff. 1a-5a have a number of short inscriptions and excerpts, most of those at the start very faint and hardly legible.Incipit: يقول العبد المتوسل الى الله تع باقوى الذريعة عبيد الله بن مسعود بن تاج الشريعة ... هذا حل المواضع المغلقة من وقاية الرواية فى مسايل الهدايةExplicit: ومع ذلك يباح التناول اعتمادا على الغالب - Brown leather with blind fillets around borders of covers and blind stamped mandorlas with pendants in the centre of upper and lower covers. Spine repaired with different leather. Pastedowns in black paper decorated with flower motifs painted in gold ink. Flyleaf (front only) in thick cream paper. - A commentary on Wiqāyat al-riwāyah fī masāʼil al-Hidāyah, a work on fiqh by the author's grandfather, Maḥmūd ibn Ṣadr al-Sharīʻah al-Maḥbūbī (d. 1274 or 5). As for the work itself, Wiqāyat al-riwāyah is an epitome of the work called al-Hidāyah by ʻAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Marghīnānī (d. 1196 or 7).
