Notlar Ms. codex.Title supplied by cataloger.Physical description: 9 lines per page; written in nastaʻliq in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper. Original pages are gold-sprinkled and mounted onto heavy blue paper decorated with a blue and gold floral pattern. Headings and keywords in blue or gold; text and verses framed in gold. Outer text frame added after mounting is in blue, gold, and red. Original paper is foxed; a few paper repairs. Damp-staining on last few leaves. First and last leaves reinforced with orange paper. Numerous lacunae throughout ms. which is foliated in Arabic script, the last being 193, indicating 97 missing leaves.Decoration: On fol. 1b, well-executed illuminated ʻunwān in a floral pattern, mainly in gold and blue. Text on fol. 1b-2b set within clouds on gold ground decorated with flowers and leaves. Ms. contains four miniatures, likely by the copyist, Sulṭān Muḥammad al-Harawī .Origin: The date in the colophon (fol. 96a) has been altered to 660 H. However, the copyist is Sulṭān Muḥammad al-Harawī, a famous artist of the 16th century, making the original date 960 H [1552 or 3]. Likely from Iran. - Full black leather with gold-stamped central mandorla and pendants, bearing a bird and flower motif and painted red and green, and gold-tooled fillets. Brown leather doublures with black border, containing leather filigree central mandorla, pendants and corner designs on a painted background. - An incomplete, illuminated copy of the Gulistān with the author's Būstān in the margins; accompanied by four miniatures.
