Notlar Ms. codex.Title from title page (fol. 2a). The same title appears in the colophon (fol. 222b).21 lines per page. Written in large naskh in black ink with use of red for headings and keywords. Red circle text-stops. Dark cream paper with pulp visible (frame-ruled). Some leaves appear darker, and are burnt by the ink. The text on these leaves is often illegible. Annotations on the margin and on small pieces of paper placed or pasted between the original leaves. Grid in red ink on fol. 1b, with table of contents (mostly empty, only the titles of qism 1 and bāb 1 are indicated). Several inscriptions, including a fāidah and ownership statements on fol. 2a.Copy completed on 5 Rabīʻ al-Awwal 883 [June 6, 1478] by Abū Bakr ibn ʻAbd al-Qādir al-Khāfī al-Ḥanafī (colophon, fol. 222b).Ijāzah for al-Shaykh Shams al-Dīn Abū ʻAbd Allāh al-Ḥimṣī from Ibrāhīm ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʻImādī al-Shāfiʻī, with list of the transmitters, dated Aleppo, Jāmiʻ al-Kabīr al-Umawī, 19 Ramaḍān 925 [Sept. 14, 1519] on fol. 223a. The same(?) Ibrāhīm al-ʻImādī signs collation notes (see fol. 84a, on the margin).Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Ḥadīth 24". This copy has been collated on a copy read in front of al-Shaykh al-imām ... Fakhr al-Dīn ʻUthmān ibn al-Ṣalaf al-Shāfiʻī (collation statement, fol. 222b). The text is followed on fol. 222b-223a by a biographical note on the author excerpted from Kitāb Tahdhīb al-asmāʼ wa-al-lughāt by Muḥyī al-Dīn al-Nawawī (1233-1277), a poem written on the Kitāb al-Shifāʼ, and a note on the number of the several manifestations of Gabriel to the prophets, apparently written by the same hand as the main text.
