Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for re-inking, headings, and key-words. Spaces for key-words such as "qāla" in red are left blank on some leaves. The words meant to be written in the blanck space are mentioned on the inner margin. Thin light cream paper (some leaves pale yellow).Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "ʻArūḍ 38". Inscription in Arabic script on a label apsted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥ 462".Origin: Copy completed at the end of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 996 [Oct. 1588] by Maḥmūd ibn Muṣṭafá ibn Maḥmūd ibn Luṭfī al-Ḥanafī al-Ṣūfī(?) al-Ṭarābulusī (colophon, fol. 31b).Incipit: ذها كتاب يشتمل على فوايد ظريفة واسرار لطيفة والكلام فيه ينحصر على شرح القافية وخلاف العلماء فيها وشرح اسمائها واسماء ما يلزمها من الحروف والحركات وعيونها وياتى الكلام على هذا الترتيب ان شاء الله تعالى القافية ما يلزم الشاعر تكراره في اواخر بيات الشعر المقفى من احرف وحركاتExplicit: وحركته الاشباع والواو عواقب هو واليا عواقب هي وهذه القافية من التراكب لان في اخرها ثلاثة احرف متحركتان بين الساكنين والحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى اله وصحبه وسلم تسليما كثيرا دايما ابدا وحسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل ولا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلى العظيم - Purple leather over paper pasteborads for upper and lower covers.
