Ms. codex.Title from fol. 3b.Copied in 996 (1587-88) -- colophon (fol. 96b).17 lines per page. Written in a simple small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is within a frame split into two sections, outlined in red ink. On ff. 24b-25a the text frames are further outlined by a gold and black frame the lines of which extend into outer margins. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper. Numerous short inscriptions on ff. 1a-3a, including duʻāʾs, a list of Ottoman Sultans with the dates of their reigns, a record of a death etc. Same on ff. 97a-99b. Several ownership seals on fol. 97b of various shapes including circular, oblong and circular with scalloped edges, most fully or partially obliterated.Incipit: بو اسم اعظم وطلسم مبهم اولن بسم الله ... جان ودلدن ديه لم بسم الله اچلم سوزله سوز كنجنه راهExplicit: كوكدن او ازيلنديله سروش ددي تاريخني انك خاموش سنه 947 - Brown leather with envelope flap. Blind fillets and small rosetta stamps around borders, and blind stamped mandorlas and rosetta stamps in the centre of upper and lower covers. Small blind stamped mandorla on the envelope flap. Lining to envelope flap and the pastedowns in teracotta colored paper. Lining to the fore edge flap in brown leather. - One of Yahyâ Bey's five mathnāwīs.
