Red teardrop textstops, some outlined in black. The text is vocalized. Illuminated title page (ʻunwān) in gold, blue, white and red (fol. 3a): consists of two panels outlined in blue with flecks at each corner and smaller ones on the upper line. Medallion on the upper left margin, with a floral motif in red, blue and gold, outlined in the same blue with a fleck radiating on the left side. The upper panel has the title written in white in stylized Kufic on a blue and gold ground with floral motifs in a three-lobe cartouche outlined in white, inscribed in a rectangular border in white. The spaces between the two white lines are filled in red, blue and gold. Gold and black outer border. Underneath is a panel with the name of the author in four lines written in gold in cloud cartouches left blank over a ground hatched in red with blue with arabesque in blue. This is framed within a border consisting of black dots on a blank ground and of a second border in black, blue and red over a gold ground. The text of the first two pages (fol. 3b-4a) is framed within a gold, black and blue border. A few collation notes on the margin, apparently by the same hand.Copy completed on 7 Shaʻbān 856 [Aug. 23, 1452] by Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Busrāṭī (colophon, fol. 210b).Collation: Paper, fol. 212 ; 1-20¹⁰ 21¹⁰ (+2, fol. 211-212) ; the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals in the form "thānī" (see fol. 11a).Incipit: باب مبعث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد المطلب بن هاشم بن عبد مناف بن قصي بن كلان بن مرة ... حدثنا احمد لن ابي رجاء ... قال انزل على رسول الله ... وهو ابن اربعين سنة فمكث ثلاث عشرة سنة ثم امر بالهجرةExplicit: باب فكيف كان عذابي وتذر ... Both cover have a border consisting of gilt fillets, with knotwork on each inner corner defined by fillets. Central mandorla consisting of several gilt fillets and guilloche surrounded by flecks radiating from a three-dot base. The inner space is filled with impressions of a geometrical stamp. Pendants on the vertical axis in gilt knotwork forming a square on its point. Similar to the binding described in Raby, J. and Z. Tanindi. Turkish bookbinding in the 15th century (1993), p. 24, no. 21. Leather doublure. - Fourth part of six of the Jāmiʻ al-ṣaḥīḥ (see colophon, fol. 210b).
