Notes Letter regarding the proposed school of arts in Ajmere [Ajmer] and explaining that although Lord Northbrook is in favour of increasing such schools he cannot sanction the expenditure and informing Pelly that a letter to Leslie Saunders will be sent stating this too.The letter goes on to discuss with a matter with Doctor Frederick William Alexander De Fabeck (Surgeon Major with the Deoli Irregular Force) and enclosing a confidential memo that Lord Northbrook had sent to Pelly's predecessor (Colonel John Cheape Brooke) on the matter (memo no longer enclosed).An addendum to the letter assures Pelly that decisions regarding his Agency would not be taken by Lord Northbrook without his prior consultation. | 2 folios | more | less
