Notlar The file contains correspondence and nil returns from the Political Agent, Bahrain to the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, Bushire about government expenditure incurred on the medical care in India, of officers and other staff of the Bahrain Agency, 1943 to 1945. The main file enclosures are as follows:Annual statement 1943-1944 and quarterly statements 1944-1945, showing that there was no expenditure from Central Revenues on medical attendance and treatment in Calcutta or other Indian provinces, of officers and staff of the Bahrain Agency;Memorandum entitled ‘Medical attendance and treatment – Central Government employees at Calcutta’, dated 18 March 1944, widely circulated by the Government of India, Department of Education, Health and Lands, New Delhi and providing information and guidance for officials, about the rules and procedures governing the eligibility and reimbursement of medical expenses incurred by government employees who travelled to Calcutta and elsewhere in India for treatment;A 1943 list of the eighteen returns to be submitted at regular intervals to the British Residency and Consulate-General, Bushire, by the Bahrain Agency about its staff and work, which included such diverse activities as death returns of British Indian subjects, locust reports and budget estimates.The file cover appears to have been re-used. On the front cover, the former file title ‘Statement of returns required of this Agency’ has been crossed out. | 1 file (27 folios) | File papers are arranged chronologically. They are followed by file notes (folios 25-27), which include a chronological list of documents in the file. The list records their document reference number and also, for later documents, a simple running number from 13 to 21 (folios 13-24). The list also records their folio number. These numbers help to identify and locate the documents in the file. | Foliation: numbered 1-28. The numbering is written in pencil in the top right corner of the folio.
