Notlar Glazed faience amulet in the form of a Wadet eye. The piece is pierced from side to side for suspension. The eye is a right eye. Below it is, to the right, a coiled uraeus with raised head. To the left of the snake is a vulture. The tail of the uraeus stops at the bird's claw, and the last coil of its body rests against the vulture's neck. The uraeus and vultures rest upon a rectangular plinth. The brow and the pupil of the eye are black; the plinth, vulture, and the last coil of the snake are a yellow-green color; the rest of the piece is a grey-green. Condition: Left side of piece missing; glaze fading; small nicks. | more | less
