The Discoverywas at Mocha from 27 May to 25 August, and at Succatra [Socotra] from 9 to 17 October.The Journal consists of daily entries recording navigational information under the following column headings: H [Hour], K [Knots], F [Fathoms], Course, Wind, and general remarks. When the ship is at anchor, or sailing near shore, the entries consist of general remarks.The remarks include sightings of other vessels, contact with other English ships, availability of ports (folio 55), and news of the death of King William III (folio 67). \| 1 volume (90 folios) \| The entries are recorded in chronological order from the front to the rear of the volume. \| Foliation: the foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the inside front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 68; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. The volume includes a sequence of blank pages, ff 69-90, which have not been digitised. \| more \| less
