Notlar Commodore George Robinson, Commander of the Persian Gulf Squadron, encloses a copy of a letter, dated 17 March (no. 26), from Lieutenant James Tronson, Commander of the HC brigantine, the Tigris.In the attached letter, Tronson reports on his visit to Sharja [Sharjah] on 15 March, and relays intelligence received from the Agent, Hadji Yacoob [Hajji Yaqoob], regarding a meeting between Sultan ben Suggur [Sulṭān bin Saqr Āl Qāsimī] and Fazel ben Turkey [Faisal bin Turki bin Abdullah Āl Sa‘ūd, ruler of the Second Saudi State]. Tronson states that Sultan ben Suggur has told Hadji Yacoob of his plans to seize the whole of the Batnah [Al-Bāṭinah] coast. Tronson concludes his letter by informing Robinson that the Sheik of Lingah [Bandar-e Lengeh] has paid his fine of 200 tomans. | 2 folios | more | less
