Notlar	The title of the file contains a spelling error: Notorial for Notarial.The file contains papers concerning the protesting of dishonoured bills of exchange, which formed part of the notarial duties of staff of the Political Agency, Bahrain.The papers consist of correspondence (much of it from the Eastern Bank Limited) requesting the protest of bills that had been refused payment; related correspondence from the Political Agency, Bahrain; and records of cases dealt with by the Political Agent and his staff (much of it in Arabic), including copies of original bills, and statements from those who had been summoned before the Political Agent to account for the non-payment of those bills. \| 1 file (237 folios) \| The papers are arranged in chronological order from the front to the rear of the file, except where enclosures of an earlier date are filed after their relevant covering letter, and terminate in a set of notes (folios 223-238). \| Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 239; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is present in parallel between ff 4-221 and between ff 233-238; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled, and are located in the same position as the main sequence. \| more \| less
