Notlar Letter regarding the success of Pelly's visit to Muskat [Muscat] and Edwards hope that Government will agree to the affairs of the Muskat agency being communicated to Pelly and not direct to Government in order to prevent similar situations occuring in future. The letter goes on to discuss matters in Bushire including difficulties that the Melik [Malik al-Tujjar] is having with the Taskerachee and a recent robbery at the house of the Shroff's which the Taskerachee would not act on, so a telegram was sent to the Persian Foreign Agent at Shiraz requesting that action be taken in the matter and a response ordering reparations to be made was received, however it had not at the time of writing been acted on.Enclosed with the letter is a copy of a letter No. 13 from Mr Alison in Tehran regarding the grandson of a British Subject who was born in Persia and that Mr Alison considers him to be a British Subject but that he will seek advice from Her Majesty's Government on the matter. | 2 folios | more | less
