Notlar	Letter regarding a Mr Shaw, whom Pelly had sent to Kurrachee [Karachi] to meet Merewether with a letter of introduction and giving his thoughts on him.The letter goes on to ask about Torkee [Said Turki bin Said al Sa'id]'s recent moves and give his thoughts on Torkee's claims and the situation in Oman including his opinion that Azan [Azzan bin Qais] is not likely to succeed as the Arabs are more likely to become one within Oman under Torkee than anyone else.The letter goes on to report on matters in Europe including recent Prussian aggressions, the likelihood they will want to avoid a war and France's position in the matter. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
